Detailing Winter Wheels

I take decent care of my car, but the unrelenting Canadian winter inevitably leaves my winter wheel setup in dire need of a restorative detail by the end of the season. I recently swapped over to my 21" summer setup, so I took a day to detail the 20" winter setup prior to storing them for the summer. I put this video together to demonstrate the process I follow to undo the damage caused by their exposure to the salt and debris of our winter roads.

Rick,

A few comments here....

First - you're one thorough guy! :) It's great watching you work. You clearly have a love for detailing. I'm wondering if you're in the correct field? :)

Second - Wouldn't it make more sense to remove the stones before the clean/polish/etc?

Third - I met up with a number of detailers in my area recently (I'm not a detailer, but have a little bit of experience), and learned about the decontamination product then. First I'd heard of it (then again, I haven't messed around in the detailing world for a good 12 years).

Thanks for the feedback, Kyle. I do enjoy detailing, but I rarely get the time to be as thorough as I would like. Not a complaint, just reality. As for those pesky stones, I leave that until last because it is the part I enjoy the least. I have to pump myself up with the fun stuff first! The Iron-X is an amazing product that leaves you feeling like you have really accomplished something. I highly recommend it. Thanks for checking it out.

Sidenote: It snowed today but looks like the roads are clear. Phew.
